You’re moving into a house with home security devices
A new house may come with an existing security system. All the alarms and cameras function well, are hung in the right areas, and are ready to go. In this instance, just turn on the phone to call and establish a new service contract. A Vivint expert will still come to your home to make sure there are no usability issues, and they might offer ideas on an upgrade or two. It's a fast appointment, and you can have your alarm monitoring set up without having a bill for any new alarms and cameras -- unless you make additions.
The previous homeowners can transfer an existing Vivint contract to your family for a nominal transfer fee to make the transfer a snap. If the owners are downsizing to an apartment complex or smaller home, transferring the security service might be a part of the sale.
You need to move and take your existing equipment with you
You might want to bring your favorite smart devices with you to a new place when you move. That’s pretty easy to accomplish, as many components are portable. You can take down each device yourself or call a Vivint expert to come and take down the system. Then a pro will hang the same features -- and any smart services you want to add -- in the new home. Your home security contract will keep the same.
